Hello and thanks for the forum.
Hello,
I thinks it's about time to intro myself especially after using the site for customer service, a rant and now to sell some of my gently used toys.
I've been an avid reader for all but four years of my life (that was because I couldn't read) and have been using.... technology to read things from I guess when I learned FORTRAN on punch cards. Although now that I think about it, when Sesame Street came on, in what '69?; there was a fair bit of reading off a screen. Anyways the first handheld unit I used for a form of e-reading was a Sharp Wizard in 1988 or '89, The clam shell one with the dictionary which I used for reading self generated contact notes and product pricing. I went through a series of Wizards until "The "Perfect PDA", the Apple Newton. I had 3 versions (and still have the original Message Pad that I turn on every now and again because who ever forgets their first love.) and yes, it was true I was an Apple Fanboy and would have continued updating Newton's as long as they made them but then Steve Jobs came back and killed (sniffle) it. And as our President so eloquently says, "Let me be clear about this" as long as I am alive I will never forget nor forgive Apple for killing my Newton and will never spend a penny on another Apple device. I bought every piece of crap Windows CE device starting with the Compaq PC companion and ending with the Toshiba e-830, I bought all those brick like sub-notebooks , all those horrible, hair pulling, aggravating notebooks and rectangular desktops running buggy, blue blinking screen Windows OS's. Spent enough to buy a Hummer and a Hyundai at retail! Just out of spite. You hear that Steve (huff... huff...snort).
Phew,
Anyway I've been reading e-books for a long while, am a Tech junky and enjoy a good read of any type. Y'all forgive my rudeness for lurking then using the forums for my own "bidness".
Looking forward to making some of your acquaintances.
Regards,
