What a pain - especially after waiting so long to get it in the first place.
It's a difficult decision to upgrade or not. I had major issues with my first Kobo having to recharge 5 times in the week before I returned it.
My second kobo is better but I was still having to recharge every 2 or 3 days. I also had some font issues that I couldn't resolve in Calibre due to DRM issues so the upgrade was looking better and better.
I really needed to get closer to a week out of a charge and being able to actually read the books I buy (without a magnifier) is very nice.
My first go a week ago didn't work but I was still able to cancel the upgrade and go back to the original firmwear. That gave me the confidence to try again but I have to say the whole time I was doing it I was worried that I was going to brick it. The "moment" at the end (actually about 2 to 3 minutes) felt like HOURS!
