Sun Microsystems was offering a data center in a box. It was a shipping container like that, with racks and your choice of servers installed. Plunk it down where you wanted it, connect it to water and power lines, and Voila! A functioning "lights out" data center.

A friend of mine was planning to get a shipping container for property he and his wife owned in update NY to house his library. Shelves, fluorescent lighting, and he'd be good to go.
