For those wondering about fuzzy math:
If a thread is removed from a forum (for whatever reason, be it TOS violations or an out-of-control flame war), the database keeping track of post indices is unlikely to go back and retroactively re-number every post that came after the offending sequence. Usually the forum counter just keeps going, and the change is only reflected in the number of visible posts... so although the old post IDs remain in place, the actual number of posts accessible is lower than the numbering system would lead one to believe.
