Publishers aren't interested in mistakes, they would just ignore anything you sent because it would mean extra work for no extra money. You need to send it to the writer instead, let them bug the publisher about it if they have any influence over them.
Just out of interest, what would be the legality of creating something like a PAR file that would correct the mistakes in a commercial ebook and hosting it on your own website (or on here)? The only problem I can see would be in breaking the DRM.
