False advertising? Maybe overly optimistic advertising. I think 8000 turns was either some kind of best case scenario under optimum conditions at Kobo central, or a theoretical number based on current draw and battery capacity. In any case, I think just about no-one is achieving it under real life reading conditions. 3000 turns seems to be a good figure from what I've seen other people getting here. I doubt you'll get a magical 8000 page unit on exchange
