I too am allergic to the little b*****ds - when doing yard work I always carry a can of that spray that shoots killer foam 25' and guarantees instant knock-down! Had to get rid of 2 nests on my front porch last month - they're quite aggressive about your just walking by.
Tom - hope it's not a rib - do you have an Ace bandage? Sometimes pressure can make it feel better! Ice down the stings first!
