I really loved Tinkers - can see why it got the Pulitzer. Just finished Parrot and Olivier in America by Peter Carey and enjoyed it so much that I'm starting Democracy in America by Alexis de Tocqueville in the original French, no less. Alternating with La Belle France; a short history by Alistair Horne.
