I did get an e-mail back from Borders customer care this evening:

"I am sorry to hear about the difficulties you have experienced while attempting to download an eBook. You have to go to www.borders.com to get the eBooks for free, you can't go through the applications or you will be charged. Unfortunately, at this time the books are not showing up as free. We have forwarded this issue to our technical team and are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Please check back in a few days. If you are still unable to download the free eBooks you will need to call Borders Customer Care at 800.770.7811 for assistance with your case"

This is odd because they show as being free on the applications, the order just won't go through. Ah well, hopefully they'll get their act together quickly, this isn't leaving a good first impression with those of us who are having issues.

I'm starting to feel like I'm falling into the "I'm entitled" trap - I want my freebies and I want them NOW!!!
