Ann: If you're thinking of getting a Kobo, wait until after July 22. I wrote the Kobo people yesterday, and their reply told me that any reader I order AFTER that date should have the new firmware update on it.

I have a Kindle 2, which I love, love, LOVE -- but I'm thinking of buying a Kobo as a 2nd e-reader for library downloads, and for a few items that I can't get through Amazon, but which I see ARE available at the Kobo store.

In general, Amazon prices are lower ...but as a Canadian, there are a few books you won't have access to. Some kind of international publishing regulations. An example of this would be the Steig Larsson books. These you can get through Kobo.

My reservation about the Kobo is that it is said to be very slow. I'm used to my Kindle now, and I think I might get impatient with longer booting time, and slower page turns.
