Hi there
I bought a PRS-600 recently, used it while being on a trip and thought what a fantastic device! I put it on a shelf and didn't use it for 2 months, when I took it out the screen was frozen and it had stripes accross. When I went to the Sony Centre they said that the screens very easily crack, i.e. when people put their ereaders in their notebook bags (when you travel I wonder where else people would put their ereaders?).
With this in mind I believe Sony is field testing their new devices on the back of their costumers. Scandalous!
