crikey !! that sounds like a lovely and relaxing way to spend a holiday. nothing like some really tricky and annoying do-it-yourself work to de-stress, right ? ideally with the addition of torture by fire. as a bonus, i found the story very entertainingly written. i'm now full of empathy for you, and it certainly made me feel relieved that my current worst problem is a leaky window directly under a split in the rain-gutter on the roof. thanks for putting things into perspective for me.

i am very glad that the story has a happy ending anyway. hopefully you won't need to use your multi-tool (or any tool at all, even singular ones) for a very very long time.
