Gee,
I can't believe they didn't patch the problem with the bookmarks...
If I flip the top corner of a page to bookmark it, turn off, turn back on. Gone. No bookmarks.
That renders the reading...

I know that... I'm a software engineer and system engineer since 1980... so I am well aware of all this. I just wanted to make sure that an out of the box virgin Kobo would not track former settings...

Yes after fully erasing it, it defaults to the new empty system. I then upgraded to 4.7.10413 and installed 1 ebook. Same thing.

Yes, factory reset. Then erased all directory contents. Reinstalled a new firmware (the same 4.7.10413), reinstalled just one book. Still the same.
It's really funny in a way as the bookmarks are...

Reformatted everything, reinstalled the firmware. Installed 1 book. Doesn't work.

I tried what you say, bookmark, move one page back. Shut off. Turn on, go back to the next page. No bookmark.
Funny thing is that the bookmarks are noted in the annotations menu. You see them...

Add a bookmark to a page (fold the top corner of the page).
Then turn off the Kobo (not just sleep).
Turn it back on.

Well it seems it would sync the books themselves, but what I'd like to have is sync the notes, highlights, bookmarks, etc... It doesn't seem to do this.

I just upgraded from Calibre 0.8.46 tp 0.8.50 and wanted to try converting a book written from a friend.
It was a Word document saved as HTML filtered.
That .htm file did work flawlessly in...
