I think it's normal. I've seen it and it doesn't bother me at all. I also think the flashes when turning pages are exactly so that the screen is fully refreshed and possibly to avoid those ghost...

I use this Word template 55076 . It's Word 2007+ but I can convert it to old Word format if you need it. The page size is set to fit the kindle and I find that the Calibri font looks fantastic...
