It's known that newest kindle fw are aggressive and defeat the fw update blocking methods we currently have available. It never bothered me to stay on lower fw because there aren't worthwhile...

Thanks! Regarding DRM, I personally don't deDRM, but I always try to backup DRM purchased content locally and keep a deDRM solution on the ready as a failsafe just in case companies at some point...
