Imo turning it off doesn't help it any. When its displaying the screensaver (and wireless is off) its not doing anything (unless you've added a lot of books, but it will index those sometime)...

Data transfer when roaming is very expensive (as everyone knows)

Due to this, a SIM that downloads a lot can immediatly rack up a cost of several hundred to thousand dollars.

Its piracy? Its using the tools Amazon gives us, it allows sharing, and keeps DRM etc open. It gives you the same abilities to share and use an e-book like a book, without resorting to removing DRM...
