Haha, I just called and they said that it happens quite often; she didn't give me an explanation, but she gave me credit for it and told me I should get the lighted cover. We'll see how that turns...

Are you positive that the Kindle never re-indexes the files? Because I know of quite a few people that have said that, like me, they've actually caught the kindle start to do it.
