Yes - I want to say, there is no method you could ever do that cannot be removed. The most difficult method would simply be a direct alteration of the zip file, that did not impact any of the source...

XHTML is pretty much the same, although most all formatting goes in the css file. Seriously, unless you wanted to style it with invisible tables, you should be using XHTML.
