I also buy a lot of books from Kobo, but also sideload others. My best option at the moment is to just stay on 2.8.1 until Kobo decides they want to put the stats back in.

I use the in-book stats for side-loaded kepubs *all the time*, mainly to see how far I am from the end of a chapter. I *really* don't want to lose that functionality.

But I also synch via wifi...

If they take away the "time remaining in chapter" from side loaded kepubs I won't be updating to it. I wonder how it can tell the difference?

I'd *love* to have the full book page numbers in a .kepub, rather than the chapter page numbers.
