No idea what problems others are having using Mangle. Tell it you're using you Kindle model, give it the comic/manga and you end up with something that fits full screen (top to bottom, side to side)...

There is no reason the Kindle can't open books at their covers by default, as a user preference setting. Makes no difference what the author set when they made the ebook or what format the ebook is...
