We pay about 10% sales tax here in California. So for us its almost a $30 dollar increase including the tax.

So if we break it down by monthly payments it comes out to slightly over $9/month.

That's great! Hope your new one arrives soon and works as advertised. I love my Mini, it's a nice little ereader. Now if they come out with one that has a built in light I'm set.
