I use cases on all my devices but not all protect them if they are dropped. I had a Aura HD in a case and dropped it and broke it. I use the case simply because I carry them in a purse or backpack...

That is true however with the new epubs from Kobo you can't even get them to the point that you can strip the DRM. They do not go to adobe you can only download to your kobo ereader or tablet app.
