Syncing books between Kobo Touch and iPad

Maybe I'm being really dense, but I can't figure out how to get books to update between my Touch and iPad. I mostly read on my Touch and if I do check the Kobo app on my iPad it's never even updated...

I really like the Verso Arc light as well. And Latch, you don't charge it through your Touch. It has an AC adapter that connects to the light with a mini USB.

I would like to store books that I download through Adobe Digital Editions on my SD card so I won't lose them when I have to reset or update but I'm not sure how to do this. Can anyone help?
