love Reacher but sometimes things are a little exagerated - for example the money pile that was in the warehouse "...hundred feet long,maybe eighty deep.Maybe sixty high.And full of dollar bills." This is about 17,000 cubic yards !
Considering a cubic yard has approximately 750,000 one dollar bills if stacked neatly therefore if warehouse full it would contain $12,500,000,000 !!!!
$40,000,000 would equal about 53cubic yards which is only 5yards(15ft) by 5yards(15ft) by just over 2 yards(7ft) high - even if it was just thrown round loosly you can see it is not the mountain that is described - would just fill the average size living room in a house !!

The books are definitely exaggerated. It's part of the genre though so I suspect that calculations aren't done very carefully when trying to make a point...or draw a picture!
