Claud Field translated these stories and published the book in approximately 1916.

The book was proofread and formatted to retain the formatting as close as possible to the original, while allowing the text to be reflowable, and made available in this format by Steven Wilson. This is a derivative of the scan available at the Internet Archive

The three original footnotes were moved to the end of the paragraph in which they were referenced and enclosed in a box to offset it from the rest of the story. Claud Field hyphenated the words "to-day" and "to-morrow" and I have maintained this convention. Words marked with an asterisk, "*", indicate that they appear to have been misspelled in the original text and were corrected.
