Question - Does iLiab have the "search" & "annotation, highlighting" features?

hi

would like to know if iLead has the following features/capabilities:

1.) Search within an ebook.
2.) Dictionary.
3.) Annotations & highlighting stuff

I'll finalize my buying decision based on the above.

Thanks

34 people read this thread, and no replies? wow.

1) No, you can not search.
2) There is dictionary support for Mobipocket, but not the other formats.
3) You can write annotations on the screen with the stylus. It does not support "highlighting" specifically though (other than circling text with the stylus, etc).

1) You can search within the current ebook if you use the 3rd party FBReader (which supports many DRM-free reflowable ebook formats). Otherwise not.

2) Only within the supplied MobiPocket Reader. Multiple MOBI dictionaries can be used at once and there are a wide selection of commercial and free dictionaries.

3) Annotations are handwritten onto PDFs only.

Overall the answer is more no than yes.

The only current ebook reader that can answer yes to all 3 questions is the Kindle 2 (but it requires conversion of PDFs to MOBI, and supports only a single dictionary). The Kindle DX cannot highlight/annotate PDFs (and dictionary lookup in PDFs isn't automatic), but it is otherwise like the K2.

Good point. Third party software can do it, but the iLiad's "official" software can't.
