Albert Payson Terhune (1872–1942)
Lad: A Dog (1919) The life of a collie dog, whose character traits – bravery, chivalry, intelligence – contrast with many of the humans he encounters. The author has based many of the stories on his own dog’s life. I have added a cover picture of the author and the original ‘Lad’, also an illustration of the dog’s grave. The source was a scanned PDF at The Internet Archive. People interested in dogs and literature may also care to know about Doglit-H, a listserv dedicated to the topic. I hope that you enjoy it, phenomshel.
I've uploaded a few more by the same author, and am editing another title for tomorrow, hopefully. |
Thank you, Patricia. I loved these books as a child. Is "Grey Dawn" by the same author available?

I'm afraid that I haven't been able to find "Grey Dawn".
It's out of copyright in Canada, but Mrs Terhune seems to have renewed the U.S. copyright in 1957. |
Ah. Yeah, I couldn't find it either. But thank you SO MUCH for these others, they're wonderful!!
|
My pleasure, Shel.

Thank you very much :) It was only today I realized this might be public domain and someone here might have also loved it, so thought I'd check and there you were :D
