Screen sleeping PDF 99% read will not turn on
I was reading a newspaper page in PDF and today when I pick it up the screen says "Sleeping 99% read" and it just will not turn on. I know that the on/off button is notoriously hard but no amount of pushing will work.
I have KO reader installed. Any advice? TIA |
Plug it in. That should boot it up. Especially if the battery has unexpectedly discharged.

PS if the power light doesn't turn on/do anything, try a different cord or charger. The device is not receiving any power. |
On the Forma there is no power light.
I have tried 2 different cables and chargers but no go... |
That seems silly (I mean the lack of power light). I would try plugging in to a computer, just to see if that does anything. I would also try holding the power button down for ages....like well over 30 seconds...minutes or as long as you have the patience for... while plugged in (if that doesn't work, I would do it again after leaving it on the charger for a long time, ie 24 hours).
Is there any evidence of damage to the screen (ie a cracked substrate, which shows with non-straight lines where there should be none in the image)? If you don't know what that looks like, try uploading a picture here...people on this forum have often been able to detect the signs, even when it is not that obvious. |
Have got it rebooted finally with that notoriously hard power switch.
Thanks for your time and helpful suggestions @Uschiekid |
I realize your issue is resolved, but just so you know, the power light on the Forma is in the power button, it lights up when the device is being charged, or at least it does on mine. It also flashes when booting it up from a powered off state.

Thanks for pointing that out. |
Note that the charging LED is mostly driven by software in these specific circumstances, so, if the software crashed, it's not necessarily a great benchmark of stuff working as it should ;).
(Checking if it starts blinking *is* a good indication that you managed to hard-reboot it properly, though). |
Glad you got it working!
