Do You Have NO PROBLEMS with Your Elipsa?

I'd love to hear from people who *aren't* dealing with database glitches on their Elipsa. Do you like the device so far? Has your experience been glitch free?

I dont seem to be having issues, I am enjoying it.

Is it the end all be all note device? No. And I don't think it was meant to be either.

It does what I need it to do, eg, markup pdf's (wish I could do sideloaded (k)epub's as well, but all things in time.

And I can take decent enough notes and make quick sketches.

My big usecase? RPG material, and quick notes and maping.

You can't markup sideloaded kepubs? I didn't have problems doing that before. I was able to markup every book I wanted to. My Elipsa replacement is on its way later today, so I can't test it at the moment. What type of problems were you dealing with? :offtopic: :p

have you tried the patch?

I am not annotating or doing anything other than reading with my Elipsa, so my situation is probably not usual, but I have not experienced a single problem with my Elipsa. The screen and battery life are magnificent. Note that I also use my own stylus to turn pages (because I hate fingerprints on the screen), so that may have something to do with my lack of problems as well.

Huh?? I thought I was on topic, it's doing what I need it to do, battery life is good, writing is fine.

Doesn't seem to need an RMA.

Nono… ME asking for details about YOUR problem was the part that was off topic. LOL

I'm glad to hear that you've had a positive experience, however. I loved everything about my Elipsa except the flakey glitches which were probably related to a bad SD card or something. My replacement should arrive any moment now, and I'm quite excited.

That's interesting about not doing annotating and having "magnificent" battery life. I had suggested to somebody else in another thread that they might try not using the pen for a bit to see if battery life on their Elipsa improved. Do you have the cover? Do you use it? A lot of people complain about how heavy it is, and it IS heavy, but I do a lot of annotating and found the heaviness extremely helpful.

How are you using the stylus to turn pages ? I tried with mine and all it does is leave a new markup line

I believe they are referring to a capacitive stylus like those that work on touch screen phones. My Bamboo stylus works on my Kobo devices, too.

I do have the cover, but I usually remove it while I read and then put it back on when I'm done. I really appreciate that it is magnetic, which makes it easy to detach and reattach.

I am not using the stylus that comes with the Elipsa. I use a generic rubber-tipped stylus (with no battery) to turn pages.

Zero issues, really happy with my purchase. My only gripe is charging with USB is deadly long. On the other side, the battery kept its charge for almost a month so I'm really happy (my Aura was 5 days long now).

That being said, I used the pen for the first time today, didn't expect to use it for work but here it is. It's really more responsive than a Surface. Now I just have to found out how to push back my annoted PDF to dropbox so if you know, drop me a line please. Thanks!

You need to link Dropbox in Settings. Then it will create a "Rakuten Kobo" folder in "Apps" in Dropbox. At that point, you can export to the "Exported Notebooks" folder in "Rakuten Kobo". It's all seamless once you link Dropbox in Settings. I hope they add support for exporting the .nebo notebook files, but having support for PDF, JPEG & PNG is nice.

Does that help?
