Haggerty, Harry J: The Blue Lantern Murder (1933); v1; 14 Mar 2021
3 Attachment(s)
Short novel in the Prohibition era, revolving around the notorious roadhouse/speakeasy The Blue Lantern, and the sudden deaths of several people.
The author was Henry John Hagerty, (1882-1950) a Masachussets doctor. The spelling of his name in the Dime Mystery Book Magazine of September 1933 with two 'g's was probably just a mis-print rather than a pseudonym. He also wrote the novelette "Murder at Holcombe Manor." Otherwise little is known of him. The cover uses portion of the original magazine cover as a base. |
