This is J. Addison Alexander's commentary on the Gospel of Mark. Dr. Alexander was on the faculty of Princeton Theological Seminary in the USA during the 19th century. This is the 1864 edition published by Charles Scribner and Sons. The ebook has been developed from a plain text file on the Internet Archive, and proof-read against the print edition. Scanning errors have been corrected and Scripture references checked throughout, but the ebook does not contain the Hebrew and Greek quotations included in the print edition. Alexander provides a detailed explanation of the text which is helpful to the general reader. C. H. Spurgeon's opinion of this book was: "Alexander expounds Mark as an independent record, and does not constantly tell us to 'see Matthew and Luke'. Hence the book is complete in itself, and the author's learning and care have made it invaluable".
