Ellen Wood (née Price; 17 January 1814 – 10 February 1887), was an English novelist, better known as Mrs. Henry Wood. A notable author of the Victorian period, she wrote over 30 novels as well as many shorter works of mystery, crime and suspense. She is principally remembered as the author of “East Lynne,” one of the most popular sensation novels of the mid-19th century.
