There she meets the Shaggy Man, and they set out to rescue the Shaggy Man’s brother from the Nome King. On the way, they meet Queen Ann Soforth of Oogaboo and her army, and lovely Polychrome, who has lost her rainbow again; they rescue Tik-Tok the clockwork man from a well; and are dropped through a Hollow Tube to the other side of the world where they meet Quox, the dragon. Fascinating adventures await in every chapter. * * * * Lyman Frank Baum (May 15, 1856 – May 6, 1919) was an American author chiefly famous for his children’s books, particularly The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its sequels. He wrote 14 novels in the Oz series, plus 41 other novels, as well as many short stories, poems, and plays. Even while he was alive, Baum was styled as “the Royal Historian of Oz” to emphasize the concept that Oz is an actual place. The illusion created was that characters such as Dorothy and Princess Ozma related their adventures in Oz to Baum themselves, by means of wireless telegraph. For over a century, readers of all ages have loved these stories, and many of the Oz characters and situations have become a part of popular culture. ---------------------- Available in two-volume “high-rez” with images based on 1100 x 1500px, or single-volume “low-rez” based on 800 x 1100px. ---------------------- Make a visit to Oz, where everything is running like clockwork! . |
