Clifford Smyth (1866-1943) wrote but one novel, and it is based on the legend of the Gilded Man: El Dorado. The legend centred around Guatavita in Colombia, and this novel tells of a small expedition seeking out the legendary city, a expedition which leads them to a wondrous underground civilisation.
The book contained illustrated endpapers, but the artist's work is still in copyright, so they have been omitted. |
