Doubt with page numbers in kepub index

Hello, is there a way to add the page number to the index in the Kepub? (have each chapter show the page number where the chapter starts). Thank you.

No way at all to do this. You can do it with ePub (using RMDSK/ADE).

The page numbers for KePub is one screen = one page and that means that if any of the settings are changed such as the font, font size, line height, or margins, the page number changes. But with ePub (RMSDK/ADE) the page numbers are based on 1024bytes of compressed text and the page numbers stay the same regardless of the settings. So each chapter will always have the same page number.

Ok, Too bad it's not compatible with Kepub. Thank you very much for the complete answer.

You can't do it, but Kobo could (have each chapter show the page number, i.e. a UI change).

I'm curious. What would this be useful for?

You can access any chapter by touching it in the table of contents, so page number seems like it wouldn't matter there.

The header tells you how many pages the current chapter is.

The statistics will give you a chart showing how long each chapter is.

Getting the page numbers by tapping and going back and forth remembering page numbers, doing the subtraction, .... Seems rather tedious? The chapter graph helps, but you still need to know how long a particular chapter is and figure it out relative to other chapters.

My Sony and Tolino readers have page numbers in the table of contents. What I use it for: When I open a new book, I look at the table of contents to find out what page the end material starts. If there's 50 pages of junk at the end I want to know that going in so I'm not surprised when the actual book ends at only page 250 of a 300-page book.

It is for when opening the index, to be able to calculate much faster how many pages each chapter of the entire book has at a single glance.
