MacOS Catalina and ADE 2.0

I was about to upgrade to MacOS Catalina (10.15) when I got a dialog box saying that ADE 2.0 was not optimized and wouldn't open under OSX Catalina. I use ADE 2.0.1 to authorize and download ePUBs to my Mac for purchases and library books. I don't want to use ADE 4.5 because of the (possible) DRM issues. Also I have concerns about using Sigil after the upgrade.

Is there another route and should I be using it? I want to stay with ePUB because I like to repair errors in my ebooks and sometimes I have to edit the CSS just to get my Kobo to display the book. Something about Amazon media statements cause blank pages and blank books so I have to remove them from the CSS.

Thanks for any suggestions.

FWIW, Sigil runs under Catalina just fine (after you allow it to). That said Mojave is where all Sigil development will stay as I also use 32 bit apps and there is no good reason to drop the 32 bit lib support as it can function just fine side by side with 64 bit libs.

FWIW, the stability of Catalina has really come under fire. See some of the Apple support forums where users have talked about increased instability in many places and for numerous apps.

I've tested ADE 4.5.10 on Catalina, and Alf will work provided the vendor doesn't use hardened DRM. But of course, there's always a risk you will run into a vendor who turns it on ...

Thank you KevinH. I will stay with Mojave for now.
