Microtek XT-3300 - help needed

Dear Microtek XT-3300 owners,

I need your help. I would like to buy a used XT-3300 scanner, but the seller does not have the cd set. Can someone upload it to a file sharing server? That would be a great help.

Thank you in advance.

Why not just get the latest software directly from Microtek?

Regards,

Kim

Of course, I contacted Microtek, they were extremely helpful, but since the software package contains third-party software, they refused me. For a book scanner, just having a device driver is not enough.

Ah … But the driver (Scanpotter for Mac, Scanwizard for Windows) contains the interface (read the manual). As for the rest, it's an old version of Finereader, and afair the Microtek didn't cooperate very well with that anyway. (I don't have a Microtek any more - it was b....y fast, but it had a problem with the LEDs, and I got tired of returning it for repair).

Regards,

Kim

The 3rd party SW with scanners is usually out of date or poor or no better than free OCR. You DO only need the device driver. Use other legitimate sources for OCR, which is the ONLY specialist thing book scanning needs. All other tools are free on Mac OS, Windows and Linux.
