John Ulrich Giesy, 1877-1947, was a fantasy short story writer, with a long-running series featuring Semi Dual, the occult detective. He is also noted for his Jason Croft trilogy of novels:
Palos of the Dog Star Pack The Mouthpiece of Zitu Jason, son of Jason Heroic fantasy in the manner of Edgar Rice Burroughs, in which Jason Croft, experimenting with astral projection, finds himself on the planet Palos, circling the Dog Star (Sirius).
