Adding books
When I add books I want to use the file name on the PC for the book title, series name, Number, Author, etc. I unchecked use metadata, and it didnt use the cover picture comments etc. If I check use metadata it doesn't use the file name. Is there a way to get it too use the file name for some fields and metadata for the rest. I use the file name if I am adding a series and want to make sure the Series name and number are consistent, otherwise metadata is fine.
Thanks, |

Short Answer is no, it's from file name OR from format file.
What you're looking for is from file name AND get the rest from the format file. But once you've added the book using the metadata from file name option you can use metadata edit to extract metadata details from the format file, viz: Attachment 172140 I'm not sure if it will overwrite what was set when the book was added. I get author and title from file name. And I manually enter any other metadata into the book list immediately after I add the book to an Intake library, then I copy the book to the destination library. BR |
