THE SHADOW ON THE BLIND and Other Ghost Stories by Louisa Baldwin (1845–1925)
A double handful of stories, to entertain fans of Victorian ghosts. Specters make appearances in the land of the living (with sometimes tragic results), folk with a touch of the fey foresee deaths, and a family curse will have its way. Is the final story a tale of the supernatural? – or is it a fairytale? * * * * Louisa (Mrs. Alfred) Baldwin (25 August 1845 – 16 May 1925) was an English novelist, poet, and author of several popular Victorian ghost stories. She spent much of her adult life in a state of poor health, and her hatred of idleness, combined with her imagination, led her to write. She published four novels, several collections of verse, and one collection of ghost stories. ========= This book was first published in 1895.
