For what it's worth, I have found this version to be a noticeable improvement to the previous version. Long presses are now required to change the progress format of the footer, which I prefer. Footnote previews now refresh pixels more thoroughly so that the X symbol used to close the preview no longer ghosts on subsequent page turns. Highlighting text also seems to be more accurate. |

At least my Aura One Edition One did two days ago. Really should read fully before commenting. Sorry, you were referring to the 2013 version of the Aura. (Why can't they be a bit more distinctive with the model names, jaysus.) |
Well, I'm disappointed that the older models (like my original H2O) won't be getting the Overdrive functionality. Still, I might get my mom an Aura Edition 2 or a Clara now. She mostly reads second hand romance novels, but if she could start using the ECRL's Overdrive collection easily, I think an e-reader would work nicely for her.

Well, I just hit the reset on my Kobo Aura One, and after the update the firmware is back to the last working one, as far as the Wifi is concerned. 4.9.1131
I think I'm gonna get a Kindle. A bit tired of that nonsense. |

I will take your Aura One. 😎 Just kidding. Kindle is unable to access your public library if you are out of US. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
he problem as I see it is that Kobo introduced a firmware with some bugs. One of them being the ePub top margin bug. So now Kobo released a new firmware that fixes this and some other bugs yet older devices such as the original H2O does not get the new firmware. Kobo, you have dropped the ball big time. Kobo needs to make this new firmware available for all devices that run firmware 4.x.
|
@JSWolf: just wait, they'll almost certainly release this firmware for most of the older devices. You've been around long enough to know how slowly kobo rolls out new firmware releases.
|
@JSWolf, in addition, "be careful what you wish for" :). Some people have complained of problems with their wi-fi connections in 4.10.11591. I never use wi-fi myself so I can't offer an opinion on the severity of the problem.
