But, it is cleared when you log out of the Kobo account.

Maybe your WiFi fixer from some time back would solve it?

I spoke too soon too. Even after factory reset 24 hours later I am having the same wi-fi problem. Clara HD says Scanning for networks then No wi-fi networks found. I go in to wi-fi settings sure enough no network is saved.
It takes couple of rescans to find other networks in my area even.

At this point it is safe to say that wi-fi functionality is broken for Clara HD

My Kobo used to have no problem with WiFi. Now since the (original version H2O) kobo firmware via internet (4.8xx?) it is regularly forgetting WiFi settings. I used to use it to check stuff on Web while proof reading, but now too much bother. It does "save" and connect, but then maybe next time it's gone.

It's sometimes a bit wonky on my H2O on 4.9, FWIW, but I'm doing some fairly unorthodox things with it, so I can't really blame it ;).

Usually switching the WiFi off, and connecting (or trying to) from the full WiFi menu before the Home popup jogs things up.

Had the same problem lately. I keep having to enter my wifi password even though I ddin’t disable it.

My wi-fi problem on Clara HD has started with version 4.10.11591. Both original release firmware and the previous update was working as intended.

Is this firmware going to be released for the original H2O (aka mark 5)? If so, I'll wait. If not, I'll wait for the patches and then install the previous firmware and then this one from the .tgz file.

I've released updated patches for this firmware version.

I have no Overdrive account and I have problems with the WIFI on my Aura One, after the update. Activating/Deactivating a coupe of times seems to work. But the problem comes back.

Oh Dear,
I have a Clara HD, with the previous firmware everything was working fine (more or less), and after I patched the firmware everything was great (in my mind anyway).

I'm afraid that once I turn on my eReader it will auto-connect and try to update its firmware to 4.10 and I'll have a wifi bug to deal with. Also, I'm not sure how long it will take before the patches are ready for this new firmware, so I'll have to deal with a stock firmware that is buggy.

Any way to make sure this doesn't happen? Can I just turn off wifi as soon as I turn on my device? And how long until patches are available for the newest 4.10 firmware?

Patches are available (I updated them) (see above).

As for the wifi issue, it seems to happen sometimes and not others. It seems to work fine when connecting from the wifi menu in the settings.

Not with my H2O. From either the Home Page or the Settings, it returns the message that no network is found.

What‽ My Kobo Touch, Mini and WiFi didn't get these updates! :)

For fun I installed the firmware on my kid's old Kobo Touch. No Overdrive love, as advertised. :D

Is there a way to hack a pref file to enable Overdrive support? I know that if I wiped the Kobo Touch and attached it to my account, the Overdrive option would be activated because I own a KA1 LE. That's how it worked with my Mini (before I sold it).

Yes, for me the Wifi bugginess is also reason to stick with the lovely patched 4.9 on my Clara for now.

There is a patch that prevents firmware updates over wifi (it is included in Geoff's patches package), which I have enabled. Of course it is untested, but so far my Clara hasn't told me there's an update. And if it will , I'll delete the .tgz before it restarts (you'll have to make sure automatic updates is switched off). So there is a way to stay at 4.9, you don't need to deal with the factory firmware 😊

Why not play it safe? Either take a stroll out of wifi range or turn off your wifi router, and than turn on your Kobo and turn off wifi on the Kobo.

Do you know if this firmware is for every aura One or just for LE?
