Working with Clips - need help

Hello,
I started working with clips in Sigil and found there are placeholders like \1, \U, \E etc. Is threre a source that explains meanings and possibilities of these symbols? And an overall help guide about creating clips in Sigil?

Thanks.

These "placeholders" are nothing special for Sigil, but are coming from regular expressions, a good site for this is https://www.regular-expressions.info/

To get the whole advantage of Sigil's performance you need to learn them anyhow :)

The Sigil User Guide is also a good resource. Don't worry that its a couple of versions out of date its still excellent for core functions like Clips and Saved Searches.

Thanks for advice, but if you mean the file Sigil_User_Guide_0_7_2.epub on this page, I am not able to open it after download, Sigil says there is some problem. :)

Use the download links from the Downloading Sigil sticky thread.

Namely this one: https://github.com/Sigil-Ebook/Sigil...ide_0_7_2.epub. Downloading individual files from a github source tree on the web can be a bit of a pain.

It'd be pretty silly of us to have a manual for Sigil that Sigil couldn't open. ;)

Look like YOUR link works. :) Thanks a lot. And yes, it is a little bit funny thing, but true. ;)
