Old Kobo is dead, need a replacement.
So, recently I have broken my Kobo aura screen (still don't know how but the device isn't working so...) and I need a new one. My budget is 200€ more or less.
I always used Kobo devices, but i broke two of them in 5 years so I would prefer to have something more resistant. I don't like Amazon restriction on kindle and I have some books purchased on the Kobo store that i still have to read, so i would prefer to not have that kind of restriction. I also have eyes issues and I need large fonts. I was satisfied with the Kobo ones (I was going with only e-books when it broke because my sight is quite bad) but I want to upgrade. I travel a lot so I need a device that is quite resistant. Also next year i'm starting university and I will purchase only e-books so i need something that actually can read well textbooks, pdfs and notes. Even if I am going to spend something more than my budget, but i don't really have a lot of money. I live in Italy and buying outside of EU is expensive because I would have to pay custom taxes and vat and on a purchase of 200€ these are quite high. :thanks: |
If you are going to try to read textbooks, etc, you might want to seriously consider a tablet.

More resistant to breakage + reading PDFs = get a tablet. And try to treat it well.

I third the tablet suggestions.

After all this is the best solution. I have to wait few months though. Thanks!

Here's an Ebay seller that offers replacements for your Kobo Aura at very low prices.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kobo-Aura-Di...jHUogBCEH52XdA I've personally bought 2 of these and I've helped 3 of my neighbors buy them as well. All came in original boxes with all the accessories and there's no way I can tell they aren't brand new, even though the seller calls them used. Every one has been perfect. I've had one of them for about a year now and it's still going just fine. I have no idea if this will present VAT or shipping issues to you but the price is so low that I thought it was worth mentioning. Barry |
