I have a long drive coming up so I downloaded the audiobook from Overdrive which is narrated by Wanda McCaddon. So why is the only review on my Overdrive this one?

Flo Gibson's voice is that of a gentle and naughty grandmother gossiping with you over tea and crumpets. It is the perfect foil for QUEEN LUCIA. It is the sound of a handful of gravel being tossed at your window in the night, summoning you to romp on the green. ...
They don't even have the Flo Gibson version available.

I like that Overdrive is available and I really appreciate that they have Kindle and epub versions of most books. But they really do need to get their act together on this type of thing.

Be glad that OD has the Wanda McCaddon version available. It's very good.

Ive listened to books narrated by McCaddon/May as well as Gibson and I agree with Jon- be glad you've got the McCaddon. I just listened to this one a few months ago by May (as she's listed on Audible) and she's great.

I am not frustrated by the narrator here, too many people here said she was good, I was more frustrated at the error by Overdrive. To have the only review be for a completely different version of the book is odd.

I wrote and deleted a fairly long rant about it earlier. I like OD, mostly because they are about the only option for Kindle library books, but they have some silly errors and what seem like bad decisions, like their redesign last year that took away functionality for no apparent reason, that make me wonder how long it will be before someone comes in and does it better.

OK, I'll start new threads for this book once it's finished being fixed.

If you want, you can contact crutledge about his upload and let him know about the errors. It's up to the individual uploaded to correct their uploads. Faster and better, I think, just to upload your own to a new thread.

I cannot. I don't have a record of all of the errors.

Yes, she does! Which is why I put a link to the Audible version of it in my earlier post in this thread. It's even WhisperSync for a trivial amount. :)

Actually, FWIW, Wanda McCaddon, in all of her names, is one of my absolute favourite readers. One of my very first Books on Tape narrations, long before I got Audible, was the Donada Peters reading of West with the Night. None of the currently available narrations of it come even close. (And yes, I have the tape. Nothing to play it on any more, but I have the tape. )

I've been listening to the audiobook. I agree she is a good narrator. I thoght this information about Wanda McCaddon was interesting. She certainly is dedicated to her craft!

She is indeed. She does far fewer books these days, but I still look out for her versions whenever I have a choice.
