Newest Kindle Paper White?

I'd like to get my wife a new Kindle for her birthday next month. The one that sells for $119 the most recent? That one seems to fit her needs the best.
I've seen version 2, version 3. What and where is the best place to get it?
Thank you, Jerry:help:

If you are looking at new only. You will get the PW3.

Where are you?

Florida.....and yes, new

Best Buy, Amazon or Staples.
Price is the same.

At Staples you can get a 15% discount. They have a coupon at their web site.

If you buy a Kindle in a store, you could potentially end up with an older version if you don't know the difference in the Kindle versions. Better to order direct from Amazon.

If you plan on just using Amazon, buy from there.
Now if you don't want to share books with your wife, then create her own account and buy from there.
Note if you have prime, you can add her account to yours.

But, if ordered from Amazon, there won't be sales tax.

It all depends where the shipment is from. I live in Texas there are at least 2 distribution centers in Texas, it the produce ships from one of them I pay the tax, if it comes from out of state I do not.

Whether Amazon charges sales tax or not depends on which state you are in and the laws. Here in California, all of Amazon's direct sales have sales tax included. (Products from Amazon third party sellers may or may not have sales tax added depending no whether they have a store front or offices located in the state.)

There was a big brouhaha here a few years ago because Amazon wasn't charging sales tax in California and the State wasn't too happy. Amazon said that since they didn't have a business presence in California they were not required to collect sales tax for the state. The final outcome is that Amazon opened a warehouse in the state and are now collecting tax on their sales. I'm not sure of all the ins and outs of the deal, but I'm sure Amazon received some (probably significant) tax incentives to open the warehouse here.

Thank you all for your info. I got her new Kindle ordered. Booklover6, thanks for the complement :)
One more question folks, can you all recommend a case for her new Kindle?
Thanks,
