The Nook UK store is closing down

Barnes & Noble are closing down the Nook UK store, and transferring customers to the Sainsbury's Digital Entertainment on Demand store, along with as many of their nook UK ebooks as possible.

http://www.nook.com/gb/notice

Nook UK customers should receive an email before the end of March telling them of the steps to take to transfer their account successfully.

From 15th March nook UK will no longer sell ebooks in the UK.
It looks like the UK nook store will turn off at the end of May, 2016.

Hardly a surprise :). You'd really, really struggle to find anyone in the UK who's ever even heard of the nook.

I think the only thing I've ever bought from there is Asimov magazines

I have a Nook Glow, and 175 books transferred from Fictionwise. I can't say I'm remotely interested in Sainsburys so they can do what they like with my account. All my books are in Calibre.

Still it's nice to find out from Sainsburys web site, nothing like the lack of an email to make me feel wanted anyway.

Would be amazed if there wasn't an email and announcement eventually

I thought they already had.
I gave up after purchase number 1 when I attempted to download the book :(

Moving users to Sainsbury's instead of Kobo, can't even follow the industry standard for failing :)

Sainsbury's is actually a pretty good bookstore. They have very nice deals from time to time.

Actually I'd completely missed that option, it hardly makes sense. :(

Unless they have a comprehensive LGBT section of fiction (like Amazon and kobo) Sainsburys isn't much use to me.

Not the kind of thing that floats my boat, so I wouldn't know. Have you looked?

If I search by author I might get a result, but they have no dedicated section. Even if they do move my account to Sainsburys I'll give it a miss. I can't be bothered to trawl through hundreds of books to get to the ones I want to read.
