Editing converted book opens empty window

When I try to open my freshly converted book the window is empty as if there is no book. I selected the book and right-clicked on "edit book" so had a book selected. I managed this the first time, but had to start over with this title from pdf format.

The name of the book is in the window name, so Calibre is aware it's opening an edit window of the selected book. Only the contents isn't visible. I can preview the book no problem and edit metadata too. It's only the edit window that is empty.

I restarted in debug mode and the log says nothing beyond startup I think:

There is no TOC. There's nothing inside the window except the preview window. It extends to all books:

Thank you, theducks and eschwartz. That was it. Problem solved.

Now I just need to fix my regex search issue which is of course much simpler when you see what you're working with..
