I've liked buttons every since the sony505. Mainly use a K4nt now and I agree with the others. Having buttons on both sides is great for switching hands...

A button! A button! My kingdom for a button!

Yes, for buttons in addition to the touch screen, but it's not a deal-breaker.

I voted for buttons although I have some readers without them.
As far as my favorite page control goes, it was using the rocker switch on the Aztak Pocket Pro.

Same here, my original ebook readers (both Sony and Amazon) had buttons. I do all my ebook reading on touch screen devices now (iPad, iPad mini and Sony PRS-T2). A button makes no sense for such devices.

I didn't vote--I prefer buttons but they aren't a must have for me. I have a Kindle PW2 and a Kobo Aura HD--both without buttons. I'm perfectly fine with tapping/swiping to turn a page--but if I had buttons I know I'd use them part of the time.

On my old Sonys (350 and 650) I found I used the buttons about half the time and swiping the page the other half.

I think must have is a stronger requirement than want, and that prefer is close enough to want to warrant a vote.

That's part of why I prefer reading on a dedicated reading device. I'm OK with people doing all their reading and computing on tablets and even phones as long as dedicated readers and real computers don't disappear or become unaffordable.

Yes, like in the older Kindles (KK, K4NT...). This feature is crucial and is keeping me from getting a device with a light. The Voyage buttons do not cut it for me as I can not press them by flexing my thumb from the side like in the other Kindles (the Voyage buttons need to be pressed from the top and can't be pressed from the side)

I don't understand the I want to use either hand folks. I have fairly small hands and I read with either hand. When I'm holding my Paperwhite or my Voyage with my right hand, I can slide my thumb .5", no big deal even with stubby fingers, from right to left and advance one page. If I slide the same thumb .5" from left to right it goes back one page. When I'm holding my Kindle with my left hand, it's the same. Slide my thumb .5" right to left to advance the page and .5" left to right to go back one page.

I realize I'm amazingly talented in so many ways but never thought some as simple as this would be one of them.

I've used both the voyage and the paperwhite in a plastic ziploc bag with no problems. My Kobo Aura HD doesn't work that way, though--maybe because of the different types of touch screen? The capacitive works fine--I've also used my phone, and my husband uses his iPad in a bag. The IR seems not to work, though.

I had never bagged my Kindle so I just slipped my Paperwhite in to Ziploc bag. It worked fine with tapping and with swiping so, drofgnal, you need wait no longer. Order a Paperwhite today. It will work in a Ziploc bag so it will probably work in a generic bag, too.

I Voted Yes FOR Phy Page Turns!

And you assume the error had something to do with a touchscreen. How...amusing.

I voted yes, but feel similar to dordale. My current reader doesn't have them, but if I had the option and I found the placement comfortable, I know I'd use them more than swiping.
