Calibre to Kobo via MicroSD (Duplicates)
I just purchased a Kobo last night and I put a MicroSD into my iMac and copied my Calibre library into it, I then put it into my Kobo, but when I opened the library this morning on my Kobo there were duplicates of ALL the ebooks, I noticed that it had a .jpg file, a .pdf and an epub all for one book.
Now as I understand the jpg is the cover's file, the pdf was probably the original format and the epub is the converted file, but how do I go about keeping the book cover without it showing up as two different files on my Kobo library? I couldn't find a help section on the Calibre site so that's why I'm asking on here. :help: |
IMHO
Use the Folder Device (on the connect/Share Icon) rather than send to folder. You configure it the same way as any other connected Device You also 'Eject' it when done (the folder icon will show when connected) |
Kobo will process any / all files present within regular directories on either the internal storage or the external SD card. So since you copied three files per book to the storage (epub / pdf / jpg) it will process and add ALL of those to it's database.
If you use calibre, with the device attached to your Mac you would just send the desired material to the device (ie more than likely just the ePub) (either to main memory which is the internal storage or memory card A which is the external card), and if you desire, the cover.jpg can also be sent, but not to the same directory as the ePub; rather to the "hidden" directory where Kobo stores the images it would normally extract from the ePub itself. |
